There's an old Itall saying, one should not leave in order to run. Do you know what it means?
I figured not.
It means that it's never shameful to exit a situation, the shame lies in trying to escape the consequences. My father, who was also a merchant and survived on exiting quite a few different situations, loved to say this.
Myself, I think it's rubbish. I think, if you're not running, getting away as quickly as you can, what's the point of leaving in the first place?
At the Theatre, Soiren would usually tell me I should stop manifesting the Two-Faced God when not on stage, if I made arguments like this. In turn, I liked to tell her, I couldn't help my level of ambition left everyone else in the dark.
